SU-76M

Paint & Glue Requried

In the Nick of Time
The SU-76M filled an important and particularly pressing Soviet need for an effective self-propelled gun against invading German forces after the start of Operation Barbarossa in WWII. Based upon the T-70 light tank chassis, it was production-friendly and some 11,000 were manufactured between 1943 and 1945. Its 76.2mm ZiS-3 gun helped it to play a valuable part offering supporting fire and as an anti-tank weapon. Superior mobility was its calling card, and the SU-76M was also able to operate in close unison with infantry units.

A job worth doing is a job well done! Exhaustive study of the SU-76M led to this accurate depiction of its no-frills makeup.

The functional open-top and -rear form of the SU-76M is authentically captured in strikingly realistic 1/35 scale.

Assembly type track parts offer a convincingly realistic finish, and a jig is included to make sure the track sag is just so.

Finely detailed and accurate depictions of features such as the cast metal drivers hatch and a wealth of accessories add further life.

The open top of the SU-76M handily allows appreciation of an impressive interior, with gun breech, shell racks and more rendered realistically.

With commander, gunner and loader (3 total) figures in realistic pose, this kit is also a great choice as an out-of-the-box diorama!
